Eiffel tower
The Eiffel Tower is located in the French capital of Paris, named after the engineer Alexander Gustav Eiffel, It was built for three years and was initially criticized by some of France’s leading artists and designers.
It is now one of the country’s most important symbols, with a height of 324 meters, the tallest building in the capital, and the second in the country after the Milo Bridge.
It receives more than a quarter of a billion people every year, with eighty-one floors and a square base of 125 meters.
History of the Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower was designed by Eiffel Morris, Emile Noguier, and two senior engineers who worked for the Compagnie des Établissements Eiffel.
In May 1884, The drawings of this plan, which was described as the great monument, which consists of four barges that meet at the top by means of metal beams.
Eiffel was awarded the patent for this design, and on March 30, 1885, a project paper was presented to Société de Civil Engineers.
After technical discussions, and confirmation of the practical use of the tower, was approved to start construction, and the first construction was started on 28 January of 1887, and the development of the tower has undergone many changes:
The elevators in the eastern and western sides were replaced by others from the second level by a French company. The elevator in the north corner was removed and replaced by the stairs in the first level.
This was during 1900 AD. The elevator in the southern corner was removed in 1913.
An Austrian tailor known as Franz Richlet died on February 4, 19122, after jumping from the first level of the tower at a height of 57 meters.
During World War I, a radio was placed in the German radio tower and radio communications, which played a major role in the Allied victory in the first Battle of the Marne.
The tower was used in the experimental transmission of low-resolution television broadcasting using a short-wave transmitter of up to 200 watts of power, in April 1935, and on November 17 it was installed to improve transmission.
Bright lights, high-power headlights are installed on the tower. Fireworks were launched to celebrate New Year’s Day on December 31, 1999.
