One of the biggest problems experienced by young people in our time is “leisure time,” and it’s a problem for children, teenagers, young people and even older people.

 The leisure time is a blessing  for some people because they know how to spend it, but is a curse for others because they does not know how to spend and how to get rid of it.

 Today we will know  the definition of leisure time, its damage and how to spend it.

What do we mean by free time?

Is those times when a person does not find anything to do and does not practice any scientific, literary, cultural, artistic or recreational activities.

By nature, man can not live without interacting with the surrounding circumstance, he needs this interaction to acquire knowledge or entertainment .Leisure time can be used in a positive or negative way depending on the nature of the person himself.

Damages of leisure time:

 – It drives young people to play and tampering and push them to bad companions, and may lead them to many deviations and loss.

– The leisure also drives young people to do or get involved in the crimes, as the English saying: “Satan finds work for the unemployed hands .”

 – Non-exploitation of leisure time in useful things lead to delayed maturity of young people physically, mentally and psychologically.

 – One of the most important disadvantages of leisure time is the entry into depression and mental illness, which may disrupt the lives of many young people.

How to spend free time:  

– Seeking knowledge, science does not stop. after completion of a stage of education, it is a preferable to continue  the next stage.

– Learn some of the skills that young people need, such as computers, literacy skills and research skills.

 – Participation in scientific, exploratory and tourist trips.

 – Participation in voluntary work and community service.

 – The most important thing that destroys leisure time is “the role of parents” in the development of the capabilities of their children and guided them on the right way to spend leisure,  Parents can raise the motives of their children.
