The islands of Japan are located in East Asia on the Pacific coast. It is officially called Nybun Koko, which means the State of Japan.
Japan is bordered to the West with North Korea, South Korea, Russia, China, it is bordered to the south by the East China Sea, to the south-west by the Philippine Sea.
The islands of Japan are located east of the Sea of Japan, and about 80% of Japan’s population lives on Honshu Island. It has a coastline of 75,129 km without land borders, and Japan has 108 active volcano, so it is exposed to volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes greatly.
Tokyo is the capital of Japan, one of the world’s leading economic centers, and Japan has one of the strongest economies in the world.

On June 27, 2018, the population of Japan is about 127,188,263 million, based on the most recent estimates of the United Nations, they live in a total area estimated at 364555 square kilometers.
Japan’s population is 1.67% of the world’s population and ranks 11th in the list of countries in terms of population. About 93.8% of the population lives in urban areas.
Tourism in Japan
Many tourists from all over the world go to Japan because of its mysterious beauty and rich culture. Both Kyoto and Nara are famous for their temples. Tokyo and Osaka serve as a center for urban development.
There are several train stations in Japan, most notably Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, which is considered the busiest station in the world.
Japan offers a wide variety of activities such as skiing in Niseko, diving in Okinawa, visiting the national parks of Yoshino, the magnificent beaches of Shizuoka and Chiba. There are many Japanese foods that are famous worldwide such as Japanese sushi, ramen, and sashimi.
Also you can visit the Gijukudani Monkey Park near Nagano; the park is famous for its wild snow monkeys, and the Kiyomizu Temple, located in East Kyoto, dating back to 798 AD.
Himeji Castle is a great building and the best example of Japan’s castle architecture. The temple of Todaiji in Nara is a place worth visiting, it is the largest wooden building in the world.
Tourists can also climb Tokyo Tower, the second tallest building in the world. The Tokyo Imperial Palace is a management center and a tourist attraction; it houses a museum that displays the art and history of Japan. Also Fuji Mount is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan.
