Environmental pollution;
Environmental pollution causes adverse changes in the universe, which has many and many forms.The natural environment divides into the atmosphere, the aquifer and the land. In the case of contamination of part of them lead to the transfer of pollutants to other parts, and these pollutants are harmful to humans in the first place.
Forms of environmental pollution;
Air pollution: because of the presence of chemicals and particulate matter in the atmosphere. Gaseous pollutants include carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and nitrogen oxides produced by the automotive industry, resulting in smog, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons and dust.
Plastic Pollution: The accumulation of plastic products in the environment that adversely affect wildlife.
Audio pollution: Noise is the result of aircraft, cars,…etc ,and often these noise occur because of high population density.
Soil pollution: occurs through chemicals that are spilled or leaked underground and are in the form of hydrocarbons, heavy metals and herbicides.
Radioactive contamination: This pollution is caused by twentieth-century activities in atomic physics such as nuclear power generation and research on nuclear weapons.
Thermal pollution is the change in the temperature of natural water bodies.
Effects of environmental pollution on humans;
These pollutants negatively affect human health. They kill many organisms, including humans, which causes many problems such as respiratory diseases, heart, blood vessels, sore throat and chest pain, and is estimated to cause 14,000 deaths daily in this world; due to the pollution of drinking water.
Oil spills contribute to skin irritation, the emergence of skin rash, and noise pollution causes hearing loss, high blood pressure, stress, and sleep disturbance.
Effects of environmental pollution on the environment;
Carbon dioxide emissions cause ocean acidification, a continuous decline in the acidity of the Earth’s oceans. The emission of greenhouse gases leads to global warming that affects ecosystems. Nitrogen oxides are removed from the air by rain, and soil fertilization can change the formation of species .
Smog reduces the amount of sunlight the plants receive to process photosynthesis and leads to ozone production in the troposphere that causes damage to plants.
Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides can cause acid rain that reduces the pH value of the soil.
