The Hashemites

 The lineage of the Hashemite royal family rise to Hashim the grandfather of our master Muhammad – may Allah bless him and grant him peace – through his daughter Fatima al-Zahra, the wife of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) .

The Hashemite family represents more than a thousand years of rule in the Hijaz region, and about two thousand years of existence registered in Mecca, which makes it one of the oldest families in the world.

The Hashemites have led the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan since its founding in 1921 after the Great Arab Revolt. The first to take over the throne was the King Hussein bin Ali, then His Majesty King Abdullah I, then King Talal , then His Majesty King Hussein,and then His Majesty King Abdullah II, and is still its King until now.

King Abdullah II

King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein Bin Talal bin Abdullah Bin Al Hussein Al Hashimi, he is the eldest son of King Hussein bin Talal .

He was born on January 30, 1962, and assumed his constitutional powers on 7 February 1999 after the death of his  father, King Hussein Bin Talal. He was appointed King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on June 9, 1999. This is what is known as royal sitting day.

The family

The marriage of King Abdullah II to Rania Faisal Yassin was on June 10, 1993. She is a Jordanian of Palestinian origin, and was named after her marriage to Princess Rania Al Abdullah, and they have children:

Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, born on June 28, 1994, the Crown Prince.

Princess Iman Bint Abdullah, born on September 27, 1996.

Princess Salma Bint Abdullah, born on September 26, 2000.

Prince Hashem bin Abdullah, born on 30 January 2005.

His love for the fairy tale Star Trek.

On September 20, 2006, he founded the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts in Aqaba with the University of Southern California.

King Abdullah wrote a book entitled “Our Last Chance – Seeking Peace at a Time of Danger” ; In this book he talks about the conflict in the Middle East and the difficulties of resolving this conflict.
